So on Christmas afternoon, Randy and his wife, Mary, headed to the Gainesville police station with the coolest holiday surprise. The two men had briefly met one another a few times before, as Keith responded to a theft at the Travis home a few years back. And inside, Randy instinctively knew what he could do to make Keith feel better.

He gave him a brand-new guitar.

“I just know how important music is and what therapy it is, especially at a time like this,” Mary told a Dallas-Fort Worth television station.

“Surprised isn’t even the word for it,” Keith said with tears in his eyes. “These are amazing people.”
