You know what they say, “Big mullet … big sense of humor.”

Yeah, no one has ever said that in the history of ever, but it seems to be the truth, because ever since Blake Shelton was named People’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” he has been laughing. Laughing at himself, laughing at his friends’ good-natured ribbing and even laughing at the haters, some of whom have turned out to be quite clever.

In a post on his Instagram page, hilariously hashtagged “#DontHateMeBecauseImBeautiful,” Blake shared a handful of not-so-kind tweets that folks have posted about his recent honor, and it’s hard to imagine anyone found them as funny as he did.

He explains, “I wanted to look at social media and see what’s being said out there by my supportive people.”

Supportive? Not so much.

Among the tweets that Blake reads is this hilarious gem: “Woke up this morning to news that Blake Shelton is the sexiest man alive. RIP every sexy man in the world who died in the great sexy plague of 2017 overnight. You will be missed.”

Then there is this rib tickler: “Blake Shelton is sexy if you like a guy who’s always about to lean in and tell you about a hearty, healthy American dog food.”

Finally, and maybe our favorite: “Blake Shelton isn’t even the sexiest man at this Waffle House.”

Whether you think Blake is sexy or not is irrelevant. And while we’re sure Blake feels flattered by the kudos, he doesn’t seem to be banking his happiness on it.

If you really want to flatter him, you might want to give him your vote in this year’s Rare Country Awards!

Blake is nominated for Fan Moment, Opry Moment and Male Vocalist of the Year in the Rare Country Awards, and it’s up to you to decide the winners. Vote now at RareCountryAwards.com until Dec. 13. Winners will be revealed during a livestreamed concert event on Dec. 14 in Nashville.
