Twelve-year-old singing phenom Tegan Marie has done it again!
Her cover of Carrie Underwood’s “Church Bells” was just posted on Facebook, and it’s racked up nearly 200,000 views in under 24 hours. This is the same girl who went viral a few months back with a cover of Florida Georgia Line’s “H.O.L.Y.” That performance has now been viewed more than 19 million times.
This Carrie Underwood cover is just the latest in a long line of performances from Tegan Marie, who will turn 13 on Oct. 25. She’s taken on songs from country stars such as Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and Sugarland. On top of that, Tegan has held her own singing duets with country singers Kelsea Ballerini and Craig Campbell.
Her original song, “Lucky Me,” has also picked up steam online.
“Church Bells” is just the latest in a long line of Carrie Underwood covers from Tegan Marie. She’s also performed “Blown Away,” “Mama’s Song” and “All-American Girl.”
Tegan tells Rare Country, “I love Carrie Underwood because she is such a strong and awesome singer! She is so inspirational to me. Sometimes her music is sassy and I really love that because she sings what other girls want to say. She is also a beautiful person inside and out. I hope I can be like her.”
We’d say Tegan Marie is off to a good start following in Carrie’s footsteps.
