Rory Feek has gone to plenty of doctor’s appointments throughout his life. As a husband and father, he has celebrated his share of good news in doctor’s offices. Yet, he has also received some of the worst news of his life in those very same doctor’s offices.
Joey+Rory fans will recall that his wife, Joey Martin Feek, died of cancer back in 2016.
Yet, on Nov. 14, it was a time of good news for Rory, as he celebrated a good health report of his three-year-old daughter Indiana. “Indy’s six month heart checkup,” he wrote on his Facebook page alongside of a series of beautiful pics of the much-loved little girl. “The hole in her heart is getting smaller, and she is getting bigger and more beautiful.”
You’ve got that right, Rory.
It certainly is a wonderful piece of news as the Feek family prepares to head into the holiday season. This season will hold something special, as Rory recently announced his plans to do some Christmas shows in December at the barn and performance venue on their Tennessee property. He had stopped performing for a time after Joey’s death, but recently made a tentative return to the stage with a handful of benefit shows for Music Health Alliance.
He plans “to do more of what I’m supposed to be doing, more of what Joey would want me to do,” Rory wrote in a rent blog post. “So we’ll start with some Christmas shows in December and see how that goes. And hopefully, early in the year, we’ll pick some more dates to do shows in the spring and summer.”
