Ask any artist and they will tell you the same thing — they never want to disappoint their fans. They especially want to do everything to avoid cancelling any of their scheduled shows. Because of this, many artists have stepped on stages with stomach aches and raspy voices at one timer another, all in an effort for the show to go on.
So when an artist not only cancels a show, but many shows, fans have reason for concern.
This is what happened on Sept. 26, as Steven Tyler headed to his social media channels to share the sad news that his unspecified health issue had forced his band, Aerosmith, to cancel the remainder of its South and Central American tour.
And while Steven has remained silent since that tweet, The Boston Globe reports that the sudden cancellation came after Steven suffered a seizure following the band’s show in São Paulo, Brazil, on Sept. 25. So far it is unknown whether Steven received any medical diagnosis stemming from the seizure before returning to the States.
However, fans took comfort in a recent posting by Steven’s girlfriend on Instagram. “All good in the hood,” Aimee Preston wrote on Sept. 28. “Thanks for the ❤️❤️❤️.”
In addition to fronting Aerosmith, Steven recorded, released and toured behind his first country album last year.
Our prayers remain with Steven at this scary time.
