Miranda Lambert’s latest album, “The Weight of These Wings,” includes a lot of highly personal details about her life. Listening to the double album, you get a real sense of what Miranda has been through as her marriage ended and she found new love with her current beau, Anderson East.

When the album came out last fall, Miranda decided to just let the music speak for itself. That means she didn’t do any interviews or explain what the songs were about. She did all of the explaining during the writing and recording process.

Looking back on the album-making process, Miranda tells “Billboard,” “I walked in with guns blazing. I just knew one thing: I didn’t want a breakup record.”

As she experienced emotional highs and lows in her life, Miranda shared that journey with her co-writers.

“I was like, ‘Let’s feel it all,’” Miranda says. “I was ready to have the days where I can’t even stand up and the days where I’m celebrating.”

When it came time to present “The Weight of These Wings” to the public, Miranda chose to just sing her new songs on awards shows and late night talk shows. There weren’t any in-depth interviews in print or on TV about her personal life as it related to the new music.

Miranda says, “I just didn’t need to talk about the record. If you want to hear my side of the story or my opinion of what happened, it’s all on there. There’s no mystery anymore — take from it what you will.”
