Real men aren’t afraid to say and do the right thing and they aren’t afraid to be themselves. That’s the message behind Michael Ray’s new song “Real Men Love Jesus.”

Ray’s newest video, released at the beginning of December, shows a different side of this rising country star compared to what we saw with his debut hit “Kiss You In The Morning” that dominated the charts earlier this year.

The video doesn’t fixate on Jesus as the song title might lead you to believe. Instead, it pays close attention to a cross necklace that spans generations and the way it weaves a thread that ties this family together. Other times, it’s just Ray and his guitar amidst a lifetime of family photos.

It’s obvious the song (and video) hold a special spot in Ray’s heart as the final image you see is that of his grandfather, the guitar playing Amos “Papa” Roach. Even more poignant, pay close attention to the guitar that Michael is playing in the video and see if it doesn’t look a lot like the one his Grandfather is playing in his picture.

Oh the things that weave a thread and tie a family together.
