Luke Bryan has based his entire career on a bunch of up-tempo country songs and a ton more hip shakes. However, he’s just as comfortable and in his element when he is singing some of the country music of yesteryear.

All one has to do to see this is watch the latest CMA Awards promo piece, where a retro-looking Luke joins forces with country super group Little Big Town for a one-of-a-kind duet of Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again” and Alabama’s “Mountain Music.” With their backs toward one another, they break into song, with their harmonies sounding nearly perfect.

The promo is just one of the many that have been created as part of the preparation for the 50th Annual CMA Awards, which will air live at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 2 on ABC. Hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, the show is sure to be a not-miss for every country fan. In fact, the excitement for the show has been gradually reaching fever pitch with the release of the “Forever Country” song and music video.

There have also been promos featuring duets from Carrie and Brad, along with Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban. There’s even a line of classic country covers from some country music’s rising stars, including Dustin Lynch’s version of Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places,” Lauren Alaina‘s cover of Brooks & Dunn‘s “Believe” and Jon Pardi’s take on Randy Travis‘ “Forever and Ever, Amen.”
