Most of us end up having to work on our birthdays, and that includes country stars who are in the middle of a tour. While you think that might stink, not only having to work, but also being alone and away from your family for the momentous milestone, that’s not the case for Luke Bryan.
And especially not true for his recent 40th birthday.
Luke actually turned 40 on July 17 while on the road in Bangor, Maine, but he was far from alone.
In a new YouTube video as part of Luke’s LBTV series, we discover a full-blown party going on backstage. The band and crew, tourmates Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch, and a few friends out for the celebration were festive and fun, expressing their well wishes and getting in a few digs about the country star’s age.
But the party didn’t end when Luke took the stage. In fact, the celebration got even bigger as a boisterous crowd joined Luke’s friends in singing “Happy Birthday” and a giant cake was rolled to the stage. Of course, the Georgia boy was happy to see wife Caroline onstage and the two shared a sweet birthday kiss.
Oh, and you know how people say a great singer “couldn’t sound bad if they tried?” It turns out Little Big Town could sound bad if they tried. Their rendition of “Happy Birthday” is painful even to an untrained ear. They even crack themselves up trying to not harmonize.
Watch the hilarious video above, and happy belated birthday, Luke. It looks like a great time was had by all!
