RARE COUNTRY AWARDS: Watch the recap of this year's award winners and live performances by Kane Brown, LANCO & RaeLynn

Now, this is just the country collaboration you need to jumpstart the Christmas season.

Loretta Lynn just welcomed Trisha Yearwood and Jennifer Nettles to sing her song, “Country Christmas,” on this year’s “CMA Country Christmas” special. The upbeat holiday tune is featured on Loretta’s new holiday album, “White Christmas Blue,” but she actually wrote it more than 50 years ago.

Her longtime producer, Owen Bradley, decided it was time she recorded a Christmas album, so he sent her off with an assignment.

Loretta recalls, “I wrote it when Owen Bradley said to me, ‘Loretta, go home and write some songs for Christmas.’ So, I thought, why don’t I write one about home and how I remember Christmas? That’s what it is. I just closed my eyes and wrote it and that was it — ‘Country Christmas.'”

Of course, Loretta wrote her signature song, “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” about her home back in Butcher Holler, Kentucky. So, you can just consider “Country Christmas” to be the holiday version of that tale.

In addition to this performance from Loretta, Jennifer and Trisha, “CMA Country Christmas” also features Brett Eldredge, Kacey Musgraves, Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Young, Brad Paisley and many more. It airs at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 on ABC.
