February 2016 – it’s a month most of us take for granted that we will see and experience and relish in. Yet for country duo Joey+Rory, they know all too well that February seems like a long time away, especially when Joey finds herself in the midst of the last stages of cancer.

Yet, on Dec. 7, February 2016 began to take a whole new meaning for the couple. Because on that day, Joey+ Rory found out they had been nominated for a Grammy in the “Best Duo/Group Performance” for their song “If I Needed You.”

The Grammys take place on Sunday, Feb. 15.

“Joey and I woke (Monday) morning just thankful for the chance to have another day to be together,” Rory Feek told The Tennessean in a recent article. “That was enough. When you honestly don’t know what tomorrow will bring, you don’t think any farther than today. But hearing the news brought not only tears and smiles, it has brought us hope.”

Add that to a month that also holds the release of their brand new hymns album on Feb. 14 and the second birthday of their dear daughter Indiana on Feb. 17, and all of a sudden, there is a new goal in the Feek household.

“Joey set a personal goal (Monday) morning of being here for all three,” Rory said in the article. “She’s so faith-filled and determined, don’t be surprised if you see us sitting in the audience at the award show, holding hands and smiling when they open the ballot and read the winner’s name.”
