On the fateful October night in which a shooter ended the lives of nearly 60 country music fans in Las Vegas, Jason Aldean was onstage with his band members as they faced one of the scariest moments of their lives.

One of those band members was guitarist Kurt Allison.

“So blessed to come home to this little guy and my incredible wife tonight,” he said in an Instagram post on Oct. 3, alongside a heartbreaking pic of his young son waiting for his daddy to come off the plane. “Please continue your thoughts and prayers for the over 550 people that weren’t as fortunate. My heart breaks for their families and friends.”

HOME❤️❤️ So blessed to come home to this little guy and my incredible wife tonight. Please continue your thoughts and prayers for the over 550 people that weren't as fortunate. My heart breaks for their families and friends. I had my phone through most of the night and early morning and was able to keep in touch with Kelly and my family and a few of you, but unfortunately lost my phone shortly after. So thank you for all who reached out, please know I feel your love and support and hope to connect soon. Thanks to the Las Vegas Police Department and all of the first responders. Your courage is truly appreciated. Again, take a minute out of your day to pray for everyone affected. 🙏🏼 @kellyjeanallison ❤️

In another Instagram post the next day, Kurt reflected on the men that were with him on that stage on that horrible night.

“We are a band of brothers,” he wrote alongside a black and white pic of Jason and his band. “After years of living on the road together, seeing the country and the world, we now carry an even deeper bond. Often referred to as ‘road family,’ we are simply now family. Extending to all of our Jason Aldean crew and their loved ones, I’m proud of all of you and am honored to be a part of this organization.”

Our prayers are with Kurt, Jason and everyone else hurting over this horrible tragedy.
