Get your tissues ready. This moment between Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood and a four-time cancer survivor is going to give you all the feels.
In the clip from the couple’s recent show in Indianapolis, Trisha starts a conversation with a lady in the audience named Carolyn. Once Trisha’s microphone is passed to Carolyn, she explains that she’s a four-time cancer survivor, and she’s still fighting it.
Trisha said, “I believe in strength in numbers. I believe when one or more are gathered in his name and I believe that you got this, Miss Carolyn. God bless you.”
The crowd erupted into applause in support of Carolyn.
That wasn’t the end of the conversation, though. Later in the show, Garth and Trisha were performing “Walkaway Joe” together when Carolyn caught her eye again.
Trisha said, “Carolyn’s made her way to the front row,” then joked, “You’re almost not tall enough to ride this ride.”
Trisha then gave Garth’s pink guitar pick and a guitar capo to Carolyn, who was already extremely grateful for the gifts. Then, Carolyn’s face took on a look of absolute shock as she realized Garth was unstrapping the guitar off his back to give to her.
After a little back and forth, Trisha signed the guitar and Garth followed, telling Carolyn, “I’m just going to sign it ‘Mr. Yearwood.’ You are a doll!”
Trisha added, “Best day ever. Thank you!”
