On May 17, 2012, during a concert at Birmingham, Alabama’s Oak Mountain Amphitheatre, Jason Aldean treated fans to a special surprise.

Bringing Tracy Lawrence — who he considers to be one of his inspirations — onstage along with fellow country star Luke Bryan, together the three delighted the audience with “Time Marches On.”

At the time, Jason and Luke had been covering the megahit for the “Burnin’ It Down” singer’s My Kinda Party Tour, which also featured opening act Lauren Alaina. But, with Tracy making a grand entrance to the stage, this performance was one to remember.

Armed with acoustic guitars, Tracy kicked off the first verse in high gear and the packed crowd just couldn’t help but sing along with him. Heck, neither can we! Then, Jason borrowed the second verse, while Luke tackled the third with a noticeably glued-on smile.

But, the boys weren’t done after that showstopper. Tracy, who ended up jamming with them for 20 minutes, whipped out some of his other tracks, including “Sticks and Stones” and the very appropriate “Paint Me a Birmingham.”

Jason Aldean, who recently won the 2016 ACM “Entertainer of the Year” title, will embark on his Six String Circus Tour on May 19. Thomas Rhett and A Thousand Horses will join him as openers.
