Remember back in junior high, when you watched from your locker as some popular girl flirted with some popular guy in the most annoying and awkward way ever?

That’s sort of the trail Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani seem to be strolling down at the moment.

Yet, it has to be good for ratings for “The Voice,” considering the current mass of viewers that are ultimately tuning into the live shows each and every week just to see what these two might be up to. And on the Nov. 16 episode, Stefani and Shelton certainly gave viewers what they were waiting for when the coaches got their flirt on following contestant Amy Vachal’s performance of a sultry version of the Drake hit “Hotline Bling.”

“I don’t think there’s ever been a more elegant and classy performance of a song about a booty call in the history of music,” Shelton said. “I mean that was, like, unbelievable. I hear that song on the radio every day. That song’s so big even I have heard it.”

And then, the subtle flirting began.

“Gwen sang it to me on The Tonight Show,” Shelton said, sneaking a peak at Stefani, which resulted in hilarious reactions from fellow coaches Pharrell Williams and Adam Levine about the performance in question.
