So now, everyone wants to know what’s next.

“I always thought we would do ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’ and ‘Dibs’ and ‘Peter Pan’ and then we would be done,” Kelsea told Rare Country after her recent show in Chicago. “The truth is that I really am protective over my next record, because I really want it to be a body of work that not only the fans are proud to hang their hat on, but also one that the industry is really proud of. That’s really important to me, so I just feel like the more I dig, the better stuff I get. I just kept digging and digging and when it was time for a new single, I wasn’t quite ready to give it up yet.”

So in the meantime, Kelsea fans can enjoy the fourth single from “The First Time” – “Yeah Boy.” But the Tennessee native is ready to give fans a bit of a sneak peek as to what the next album will bring.

“It’s not going to be some dramatic, ‘I’m an adult’ sort of record, because I’m not,” Kelsea laughs. “But, it will tell the story of the last two years of my life, in which I did a lot of growing up. I went through a heartbreak and I found the best guy in the world and I got to travel the world and I got to play big stages and I met some of my favorite artists. It’s just going to capture that… and more.”
