During a recent interview with the People’s Choice Awards, the almost unbelievable possibility came up of country superstar Luke Bryan taking a seat in the big red chairs alongside Blake Shelton on “The Voice.”

And as you might think, Shelton’s reaction was priceless.

“He says a lot of stupid stuff, and if you get him on national television, he could say something that is really dumb, and I would be the first one laughing about it,” Shelton told the interviewer. “I don’t know if you know him, but he’s not very smart. He’s a little slow.”

Indeed, it looks like the chairs are full when it comes to the coaches on “The Voice,” whose new season begins in February. And while Shelton is quick to joke about his fellow country star, he did show Bryan some love during the same interview.

“You have to love the guy,” Shelton said. “His music speaks for itself, and his history and track record speaks for itself. He’s definitely a guy who would have earned a spot as a coach.”

Of course, Bryan doesn’t have a lot of time on his hands these days. The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year and two-time ACM Entertainer of the Year, will embark on his brand new “Kill The Lights Tour” on Feb. 16 in Evansville, Ind., with openers Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch.
