With the Fourth of July holiday, most country stars took a little break from the road for some R&R before they continue touring. But that doesn’t mean they weren’t still making news.

In fact, while most stars were on vacay, Carrie Underwood actually returned to the stage temporarily. The gorgeous singer-songwriter, who has been on hiatus since last November, belted out some of her biggest hits for an exclusive MasterCard American Airlines Advantage members-only event in L.A. And if you think the time off the road may have left her out of performance shape, guess again. In Rare Country’s 5 video, you can see she still leaves fans “Blown Away.”

Speaking of being blown away, we were stunned to hear the heartbreaking news that Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines and her Hollywood husband, Adrian Pasdar, had filed for divorce. Natalie cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, but reports also say that the divorce is amicable. Thank goodness! Natalie and Adrian have two sons who are also affected by this sad news.
