The horrific Oct. 1 massacre in Las Vegas is still fresh on everyone’s minds, and while many victims and their families are still dealing with the tragedy, others are beginning to express messages of gratitude and resilience. Country artist Dee Jay Silver is one of the survivors that is grateful for a lot.

Dee Jay and Jenna’s young son, Wake, was just a few doors down from the gunman when all hell broke loose at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.

Fortunately, the baby was safe with his nanny, snuggled up in jammies and blissfully unaware of the nightmare that was unfolding near him and the terror his mommy and daddy were experiencing as they ran for their lives at the festival below.

Wake will find out when the time is appropriate, and, fortunately, Dee Jay and Jenna will have plenty of good memories and photos from that day that will show that what ended in devastation started in celebration.

As a country music festival should be.

Now, as the smoke is settling, Dee Jay and Jenna have posted photos of where they were just hours before the first round was released from the gunman’s rifle, and it began as truly a day for celebrating country music.

It was also a weekend for the ginger baby to hang with his extended family, including festival performer Jake Owen.

And those fellas that are a party waiting to happen—Big and Rich and Cowboy Troy.

They also shared this joyful photo of their family home safe and together in Nashville after the festival.

Finally home ❤️!

And fortunately, Dee Jay and Jenna just got news of a little something else to make them smile. Their beautiful baby boy is a featured model in the Little Giraffe baby boutique catalog. And, yes, we’re biased, but we don’t think the catalog could have picked a better boy.
