As current events in the news continue to be depressing, many are finding comfort in the simple moments, like playing catch with your doggie. NASCAR favorite Dale Earnhardt Jr. is among them, and heck, just watching it makes us feel better, too.
In an Instagram video shared on August 31, Dale Jr. plays catch with his beautiful pet, Gus, before heading off to a NASCAR weekend of races at Darlington Raceway.
And yes, we are not sure who is having more fun, as the two buddies seem to be downright blissful enjoying some quiet time together at what looks like some mighty nice digs. The dog gets quite a workout too.
Of course, Dale Jr. is hoping that he can bring home a win at Darlington, as the days are dwindling to his last race before his retirement at the end of the 2017 season. Yet, he also will take time to honor his dear father on September 2 at an “An Evening Honoring Dale Earnhardt Sr.,” in which Dale Jr. will join siblings Kelley Earnhardt Miller and Kerry Earnhardt in speaking about the late racing legend.
“I’m looking forward to being a part of this event to tell stories about Dad,” Dale Jr. said in a press release for the event. “His driving style and Darlington really had a lot of similarities; just how tough and gritty they were.”
