It’s goes without saying that NASCAR superstar Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a pro on the track. But off the track, and especially in the gynecologist’s office, the poor guy needs some help. Take, for example, his recent visit to the doctor with wife Amy, where they received the good news officially that they were expecting a baby in May 2018.

“We went for a checkup, and Amy, she took a couple of tests, and the tests were saying she’s pregnant,” Dale recalled during a recent interview with “USA Today” at Kansas Speedway. “We went to the doctor, and I’m still thinking, ‘Man, I ain’t believing crap until this doctor tells me.’ So, we’re sitting in there for, like, 20 minutes, and they’re talking woman language, and I’m not understanding. They’re just talking about things, and I’m like ‘Well, when is she going to say it?’ I want to hear it from the doctor’s mouth that she’s pregnant, so we can rejoice. It took them a while. I was scared to speak up.”

Poor Dale.

“Finally, they said something that confirmed it for me, and I was like, ‘Awesome,’” he continued. “And then we had the ultrasound and got to hear the heartbeat and all that right there. It was great. We go back for another checkup here soon, in a couple of days, and those are awesome. Those are so much fun because it’s like the closest you can get to it before they’re born. And I’m looking forward to each and every one of them.”

And while the Earnhardts held their secret for a while before officially announcing their baby news on Oct. 16, Dale is already sounding antsy to get this baby in his arms. “Just can’t wait to meet her,” the dad-to-be gushed. “I’m just thrilled to meet her, and it’s just taking forever.”
