Life is especially sweet for country duo LOCASH right now. After years of paying their dues around the country and writings hits for other artists like Keith Urban and Tim McGraw, Chris Lucas and Preston Brust are now hit-makers in their own right. So far, they’ve scored two gold-selling singles, “I Love This Life” and “I Know Somebody.”

Now, they’re poised to continue that success with their brand-new song, “Don’t Get Better Than That.” The song comes out this week just as the guys gear up to perform a New Year’s Eve show at Opry City Stage in New York City’s Times Square.

Things are going really well for the guys back home, too. Chris and his wife, Kaitlyn, welcomed their third child and second daughter, Violet Reid Lucas, this past September.

Preston and his wife, Kristen, welcomed their baby girl, Love Lily Brust, in January 2016. No matter how far they travel away from home, the guys always leave their hearts behind with their families.

Chris tells Rare Country, “Once you become a daddy, the whole world changes.”

Preston agrees, saying, “My first child is a little girl, so I am just in trouble. She’s starting to get a little attitude now. It’s fun to watch her personality develop, but it’s also scary. I’m like, ‘Oh, boy. We’re in for it.’  I don’t stand a chance.”

The LOCASH baby boom has coincided with their country music career taking off, too. There’s nothing like checking in with their kids to keep them grounded before they go to big events like last November’s CMA Awards, where they were nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year.

The night before that big show, LOCASH was on the red carpet at the BMI Country Awards being recognized for their achievements as songwriters. Preston told us on the carpet, “This industry is fast-paced. There’s always something happening. There’s always a phone call or a conference call or a big decision to make. My little girl walked in tonight while I was getting ready for the awards, and she said, ‘Hi, dada!’ I was like, ‘That’s it.’ Sometimes it just brings you back. Just that one quick little moment.”

Chris added, “It’s a nice little reality check.”

Look for LOCASH to debut their new single, “Don’t Get Better Than That,” with a big performance on NBC’s “Megyn Kelly Today” on Friday, Dec. 29. The song will be released on all digital platforms that day. It’s the lead release from LOCASH’s new studio album, due out in 2018.

They’ll kick off their 2018 tour dates Jan. 19 with a show at The Fillmore in Washington, D.C. For a full list of dates, go to LOCASHMusic.com.
