Scotty McCreery has had quite a year. Not only is he flying high thanks to his current single, “Five More Minutes,” and his engagement to longtime girlfriend Gabi, but he’s also been able to do some really cool things involving the many sports he loves.

One of those sports is football.

On Oct. 15, Scotty traveled to Denver’s Sports Authority Field at Mile High for the Denver Broncos vs. New York Giants game in order to sing the national anthem. And for a brief moment, the roughly 76,000 fans in attendance didn’t have to worry about who was kneeling and who was not, but just basked in the beauty that is our anthem.

Of course, as good as 2017 has been for Scotty, it looks like 2018 might be just as good — and maybe even better — as the new year will bring a new album.

“It’s going to be one of the most personal albums I have ever done,” Scotty recently told Rare Country. “I have had a hand in writing every song on the record.”

And then, of course, there will be the wedding that country music fans have been waiting for. “We have started the planning process,” Scotty told Rare Country just a few short days after his engagement. “I want her to have everything she wants on our special day. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.”
