Luke Bryan loves interacting with his fans, but he has to have a few rules in place when he meets with them before his shows. After all, Luke is a married man, so there are protocols to make sure the ladies behave themselves around the sexy country star. Those rules include making sure the fans keep their hands off Luke’s backside.

This past year, Luke did make an exception to that rule for one spunky grandmother named Frances Stanaway of Missouri. At age 88, Frances, who is battling a terminal illness, got all dressed up in a custom-made Luke Bryan shirt that read, “Shake it for me, Luke!”

How could you not break the rules for her?

Luke tells Rare Country, “When you get to [88], you’ve done good, but that never softens the blow that she knew that she had a limited amount of time. So, she wanted to come to my show. They got her in a wheelchair and rolled her down there. She’s at meet and greet, so I let her touch my butt. She got a big ol’ handful.”

At first, Frances wasn’t so sure about putting her hand on Luke’s butt.

He adds, “She was kind of reluctant, though. She’s a lady. She didn’t want to touch too much of the booty, but she finally came to her senses and got her a handful.”

This unforgettable exchange with Frances has earned Luke a Rare Country Awards nomination in the Fan Moment of the Year category. He’s also up for Tour of the Year and Male Artist of the Year at the fan-voted show. Vote now through Dec. 13. at RareCountryAwards.com.
