During the 50th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, Sam Hunt performed his smash hit “Take Your Time.”

Sporting his signature side swept hair, a pair of hot red pants and a basic black tee, Sam spoke the lyrics about a man’s desire to get to know his female friend. Owning the crowd, he made sure to slap the hands of all of his fans, and by the time the native Georgian got to the chorus, he was on the stage singing to a ginormous, roaring crowd.

“Take Your Time” was the second single off of Sam’s 2014 debut album, “Montevallo.” Released on Nov. 24, 2014, the song rose to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. That hit may have played a slight role in Sam’s nomination for a 2015 ACM New Artist of the Year Award. Although, that trophy ended up in the hands of Cole Swindell.

Now, Sam is nominated again. This time, for an Album of the Year Award, and we can see why. “Montevello,” which is littered with other chart-toppers like “Leave the Night On,” “House Party” and “Cop Car” (also sung by Keith Urban), debuted at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart.
