When news broke that Blake Shelton would be releasing his first song since his split with Miranda, well, we didn’t know what to think.

Would he address the divorce? The demise of the marriage? His new relationship with Gwen Stefani? Or would he ignore it completely and give us another “Boys ‘Round Here?”

Came Here to Forget” debuted and there was no denying it was personal for Blake, especially after he confessed, “I don’t think I’ve ever had a song before that’s such a direct look into my life.”

Even after all this time, we still hear the clues. We’re still thinking on those lyrics about Blake singing about “getting even with exes” and nobody’s ex “texting for a rewind.” It definitely has us thinking about Blake and Gwen getting together in the wake of their respective divorces from Miranda and Gwen’s rocker-ex Gavin Rossdale.

The other line that leads back to Blake and Gwen is the line about “Falling in love just enough to get us through what we’re getting through.” OK, so maybe we took it too literally, but Blake said it first with that quote!

Relationship drama aside, you’ve got to admit he looks h-u-n-k-y in that cover photo. We still think he resembles a young Paul Newman.
