Carrie Underwood fans weren’t happy their girl didn’t take home some hardware at the ACM Awards April 2 in Las Vegas. Hopefully they’ll be smiling again when they find out about her latest recognition from the Country Music Association.

Carrie has just been announced as this year’s winner of the CMA Awards’ International Artist Achievement trophy. The win comes after Carrie took her Storyteller Tour overseas to Europe and Australia this past year.

She writes, “I truly have the most amazing fans…from all over the world! I couldn’t be more grateful when I get to hop on a plane to go play for some of them! Thank you all for showing up with your incredible love and support and thank you #CMA for this award! This is truly special!”

Congratulations, Carrie!

Next up, Carrie is spending time writing and recording new music in the next few months. We’ve got our fingers crossed for a new album from Carrie later this year or early 2017.

In the meantime, Carrie is enjoying her hit collaboration with Keith Urban on “The Fighter.” They turned in a stellar performance of the song on the ACM Awards April 2 in Las Vegas.
